Writer's Block: Spoilers Below the Cut

Have you ever ruined the ending or given away plot developments in a book, movie, or tv show by telling someone who hasn't seen or read it what happens? Has anyone ever done this to you?

Regretably, yes. This happens to me frequently as I have younger siblings who are rather slow that not everyone sees a movie opening week. As for TV shows, I'm generally bad at assuming people don't watch, (say, House) within 7 days of the original airing. Books it's pretty easy to go "have you read such and such" first though, so never had a problem with those.

I actually saw The Sixth Sense without being spoiled.

"Virgin Meme"

One of my fave fic writers ([info]dreamsofspike ) did this in her journal, looked like fun. Not tagging anyone though.
Start at 100% and subtract 1% for everything you've done. At the end, repost this as "I am ___% Virgin at Life". Tag 5 friends to do the same.

Actual Muse-ing

So I read this great story over at [info]dark_wilson  called "Stab!Maim!Kill!" about my favorite kind of Wilson, the one twice as dark as dark chocolate but still just as sweet. The author, [info]vurt_junkie  and me had a nice little comment chat, and it inspired more, possibly even better fic appropirately tittled "Man of Letters Chapter 1 The Little Black Book...OF DEATH!!!". It's suprisingly not angsty, and actually more amsuing than anything. (Angry Wilson is definately cute, and atleast better than mopey depressing Wilson.)

I'd link to specific entries, but it's like 4 am. Maybe I'll remember to edit this later (probably not) but I recommend checking them both out if you have foolishly not done so already.

Muse

So I'm working on an outline for a story that's viciously nagging at me right now... if I fully get this idea down I might start writing it. Dun think I'll post it though, gonna be horrible. Maybe I'll post it anonymously? I dunno.

I hate my brain some times.

Writer's Block: Titular Heroes

Kurt Vonnegut's books have great titles, like Breakfast of Champions and Slaughterhouse Five. If your life was a novel, what would the title be?

Oh geez, I dunno why I'd ever write a book about myself, but I'm sure no one would read it!

Hmm, it'd probably end up moth or butterfly related, and probably lame and sappy. I still like my journal name, Chasing Lights, because I can only ever seem to chase them, mesmerized. They stay out of reach, but they consume me and I am unable to pull away.

Good News!

Well, I finally know what my ridiculous cough is other than hay fever. Apparently all those people I told "I'm not contagiousI just have allergies" I owe a slight apology to, as I am contagiousbut ah... who cares.

I have MRSA in my lungs, to which I went eww (only in my left lung), I've heard of that before, but it's a lot more common on the skin. Basically I have a fancy Staph infection in my lung. The more or less awesome news is they gave me even more meds, including some nice liquid hydrocodone which really knocks me out but has finally made all the pain from coughing err... stop.

Atleast this gives me a reason to sit around and read and browse the internet. Bad news is I'm really bored. Need to go find some more livejournal friends to poke or memes to do or something. *sigh*

Bacteria can't be spread by livejournal comments! :)

Diagnose Me

So I've been hanging out here a LOOOOOT lately and I've decided I need to stop lurking and try to be active. Maybe not be a big time poster myself, but at the very least I need to give feedback and comments every time I read a fic! Of course, with my college work load and other things going on I usually have other things I should be doing, but hey, I do need to unwind sometimes right?

Also, with my ongoing health problems, I'm finding less and less ways to relax. Currently in addition to my normal health thingies I have some kind of cough thing. People on campus treat me like I have the plague, which is awesome for avoiding annoying guys hitting on me, not awesome when you're trying to working on group programming assignments *cry*.

Almost time to register for classes for spring. I really miss a couple of my old friends, and I want to contact one of them and ask her what classes she's planning on taking to maybe get a couple with her but the whole lapse between the last time I spoke with her (6 months) makes me feel awkward...

Anyway. Reading a lot of HOUSE FANFICS right now, so if you stumbled here you probably were, I dunno, curious about me or something. I actually do write fanfics, but I've um, only posted like 6-7 online ever because they're horrible >_< I mostly read slash. Love House/Wilson and a looooot of stuff in that catagory.

I'm horrible

Yes, so I can't get The Joker out of my mind. It's really quite disturbing, I'm literally losing sleep with him taking up valuable room up there. Space is at a premium, I'm going to have to start charging rent.
Here's a little drabble:

All the world’s a stage. And all the little people, in their nice little houses, with their nice little lives, forget they’re in a play.

It’s nice to remind them. The show must go on.

It’s especially riveting, when you have a captive audience. You’ve got them by the edge of their seat, or maybe more the collar of their shirt.

That’s when you don’t need to draw them in anymore. You smile, it’s almost genuine, and lean in close. The glint of the knife is almost enough to draw their gaze away from yours, but you’ve got ‘em. The pull is just to strong. And they’re just dying to know the plot twist.

The knife catches the light, putting the spotlight on your waiting audience. They hold their breaths.

“Want to know how I got these scars?”
